The PDF that added five figures a month ๐
Most bonus PDFs do nothing. This one changed the math, plus a Warby Parker teardown, a cart drawer test, and a mushroom drink page
Hey optimizer,
Most freebies on product pages are clutter.
This one was worth five figures a month more.
Same idea, completely different result, and the difference came down to one word in the name and where it sat on the page.
Also inside: a full teardown of Warby Parkerโs store, homepage to cart.
Letโs get into it.

We treat EVERY client the same
I donโt care how big your brand is.
I donโt care how much you pay us.
We treat EVERY client the same.
And we obsess until we get you results.
13 years in business and messages like this still mean everything.
This is what ConversionWise was built on.
And itโll never change. โค๏ธ

03 / TEARDOWN
Before โ what Iโd test ๐
Warby Parker have great products.
But I think there's a LOT more their store could be doing to sell them.
So, for the love of the game, we gave it the ConversionWise treatment.
Homepage. PDP. Cart.
No data. No analytics. Just 13+ years of CRO experience and a bunch of things I'd be testing.
1. Homepage

2. PDP

3. Cart

04 / A/B TEST OF THE WEEK
A free ebook was worth $68,000 a month to an ecom brand selling BBQ smokers

I know how that sounds.
A PDF bolted onto a $429 product is usually just more clutter on the page, and most free downloads do nothing at all.
Two things made this one work.
The first was who the buyer was.
Their survey answers didnโt describe people who wanted a smoker.
They described people who wanted to get better at smoking.
For that buyer, a guide to rubs, timings and fire control isnโt a freebie.
Itโs something they were going to go looking for anyway, probably that same weekend.
The second was the name. The Summer BBQ Guide, not The BBQ Guide. A season in the title implies a moment, and a moment implies now.
Then we put it somewhere it would actually be seen.
A banner at the top of the product page, above the price, with the cover shown, instead of one more line buried in the description.
+$68,000
MONTHLY REVENUE
The condition is that the gift has to be something your buyer already wanted.
A generic ten page PDF stapled to a $429 order reads as padding, and padding makes a price feel worse, not better.
A discount lowers what they pay.
A gift raises what they get.
