Hair And Body Care Ecom Collection Page Optimization ๐ซง
Our client sells refillable hair & body care products, designed with high performance & sustainability in mind.
They hired us to redesign their store and optimize it for higher conversion rates.
Hereโs how we boosted their collection page conversion rates..
Let's break down the before/after now ๐
We:
1. Added the limited time sale to the toolbar: We used the toolbar to communicate effective messaging through a limited time offer.
2. Added a trust policy notice bar: This allowed us to show consumers the quality of the products and establish credibility to remove any friction on purchase.
3. Added much needed social proof. Great ratings like 4.9/5 from happy customers must be leveraged to its max potential.
4. Added a clear value proposition/headline: One of the first things people want to see is a headline, weโve made sure it showcases our value propositions.
5. Added clear product filters: This allows customers to easily select and browse for the exact product type theyโre looking for.
6. Reordered above the fold: Weโve added proper product cards above the fold and displayed them 2x2 to make sure people can actually clearly shop the products from the collection page.
Quick Wins
Add a "Best Sellers" carousel to your mega-menu.
The most clicked section of your store is typically the menu based on heatmap data.
Show your visitors the best selling products first and foremost to trigger the herd effect.

Use labels on your collection pages.
These labels will provide guidance to those initial visitors who may not know where to go or those unsure of what to buy.
Anything you can do to make a visitor make a quicker and more informed purchase, do it!
Bang!

Remove ALL distractions!
You'd be amazed at how many Ecom stores STILL have social media links above the fold = NO
STILL have CTA's that don't directly link to a sale above the fold (example attached) = NO
GET RID OF EVERYTHING
One clear CTA = money!

How a 'Best Seller' Carousel Added Over $48,000 in MRR for Our Client - BOOM! by Cindy Joseph

Usually, brands of this caliber keep their data under lock and key .
But Ezra - being the absolute legend that he is - gave us the green light to share this amazing case study with all of you! ๐
The Test:
An ABC test on a client's mobile mega menu with the addition of a 'Best Seller' carousel and reorganization of menu items.
The Goal:
To optimize navigation by aligning the menu with user interest and engagement metrics, thereby aiming to increase Revenue Per Session (RPS).
The Why:
Heatmap data suggested that while some menu items were performing well in terms of RPS, their placement did not reflect their importance or relevance.
By reordering these items and introducing a 'Best Seller' carousel, we anticipated a more intuitive navigation experience that would reduce friction and draw attention to popular items, influenced by cognitive biases like anchoring, social proof, and the availability heuristic.
The What:
Both variants introduced a 'Best Seller' carousel at the top of the mobile menu to immediately capture user attention and provide quick access to top-selling items.
Menu items were reorganized to prioritize those with higher RPS. Variant C added a customer testimonial to leverage social proof and enhance trust.
The Results:
+ $48,332 per month
+ $579,984 per year (forecasted)
+ $0,32 revenue per session
